1. Our commitment

MIR Capital Inc., operating as MIR Group, is committed to treating all people in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence. We believe in integration and equal opportunity, and we are committed to meeting the needs of people with disabilities in a timely manner.

We meet our obligations under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) and the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation, and our obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code.

2. Accessible formats and communication supports

If you need any information we publish in a different format, ask us and we will provide it. This includes anything on this website, and any document we send you.

We will:

  • consult with you about what format or support actually works for you;
  • provide it in a timely manner; and
  • provide it at no extra cost — you will never pay more than anyone else pays for the same information.

Accessible formats and communication supports can include large print, plain language, reading information aloud over the phone, electronic text that works with a screen reader, or another arrangement that suits you. Ask us using any of the contact methods in Section 7.

3. Accessible customer service

Assistive devices. You are welcome to use your own assistive device when dealing with us.

Service animals. People with disabilities are welcome to be accompanied by a service animal in the parts of our premises that are open to the public.

Support persons. You are welcome to be accompanied by a support person. Where we require a support person for health or safety reasons, we will consult with you first, and we will not charge any admission or fee for the support person.

Notice of disruptions. If a facility or service that people with disabilities rely on is temporarily unavailable, we will post notice of the disruption, the reason for it, how long it is expected to last, and any alternative arrangements.

Training. Our employees and volunteers are trained on accessible customer service, on the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation, and on the Ontario Human Rights Code as it relates to people with disabilities.

4. This website

We aim to make mircompaniesgroup.com usable by as many people as possible, including people using screen readers, screen magnification, keyboard-only navigation, and voice control.

In building and maintaining this site we work toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. We use these guidelines as our design target because they represent good practice, not because the AODA's website standard applies to us — that standard applies to organizations with 50 or more employees in Ontario, and we are below that threshold. We have adopted the target voluntarily.

In practice this means we work toward:

  • text alternatives for images and non-text content;
  • sufficient colour contrast between text and background;
  • full keyboard operability, with a visible focus indicator;
  • semantic HTML headings, landmarks and labels, and ARIA only where it adds meaning;
  • form fields with associated labels and clear error messages;
  • content that reflows and remains readable when zoomed or viewed on a small screen.

Known limitations. This website is actively being developed, and some pages do not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We have not completed a formal third-party audit, so this is a statement of our goal and our current work — it is not a claim of conformance. Where you encounter a barrier, please tell us, and we will fix it or give you the information another way in the meantime.

Some content on this site is provided by third parties, or is linked from websites we do not operate. We do not control the accessibility of that content.

5. Giving us feedback

We want to hear about anything on this site or in our service that got in your way. Your feedback helps us find problems we have missed.

You can give us feedback by email, by telephone, or by mail, using the details in Section 7 — whichever works best for you. If none of those methods is accessible to you, tell us and we will arrange another way to receive your feedback.

Feedback about accessibility is available in accessible formats and with communication supports on request, at no extra cost.

What happens next. We will acknowledge your feedback within 5 business days. If the issue needs more time to resolve, we will tell you what we are doing about it and roughly how long we expect it to take. We will reply in the format you prefer.

6. Our accessibility policies

We have policies governing how we achieve accessibility for people with disabilities. Organizations of our size are not required to publish these in writing, but we will provide a copy or explain any part of them on request.
